If
you haven’t heard him yet, get ready to be awakened
by the positive lyrical content, infused with the upbeat sounds,
reminiscent of his Ethiopian experiences. Jahziel from
the tribe of Naphtali.
grew up in the headquarters of the Twelve
Tribes of Israel in New York,and was exposed to Orthodox Music as a babe. He
made his first appearance in music as a reggae DJ for The Twelve Tribes of
Israel sound system, and later branched off as a singer/songwriter.
Jahziel has worked with talented artists such as: Half Pint, Visionaires,
Abyssinians, Ken Booth, and Fred Locks. He was the opening act for Lucky Dube
backed by Admas Band, and Burning Spear at
Woodstock. Ever
on the move, he traveled internationally, appearing on various venues, and
spreading the message of love through the music. As a feature artist
for Orthodox Showcase he performed in Last
but certainly not least, Jahziel along with Cherry Rock co-host the
Orthodox Showcase radio show WRTN, 93.5 FM 2:00am-3:00am every
Friday morning. Together they present conscious music, some of which have
never been heard on the airwaves. In other words,
strictly Orthodox. His
new release titled Ethiopian Princess, and Ethiopia Betam
Conjo is featured on the Shine Your
Light compilation CD under the Orthodox Muzik label which is set to be
released in the Fall of 2005. The mind is
opened to the light, and the soul grows into consciousness giving strength
to all who will listen to the words in his songs. |
